Affiliate Storm Chaser Program
The Affiliate Storm Chaser Program is the heartbeat of CAWA’s field operations. We invite dedicated storm chasers, meteorology enthusiasts, and severe weather photographers from across Central Appalachia to join a united network that elevates their work while serving the greater good. Affiliates maintain their own identity and brand but gain the backing of an organization committed to amplifying their reach and providing valuable resources.
As an affiliate, you will:
Contribute live video streams, high-quality images, and real-time observations to a centralized platform that serves thousands of viewers, emergency managers, and media outlets.
Benefit from our extensive promotion across social media, our official website, and live coverage broadcasts, increasing your exposure and audience engagement.
Access professional-grade forecasting tools, live radar feeds, GIS storm tracking, and communications systems that keep you connected in the field.
Participate in training and coordination briefings that enhance your safety, forecasting skills, and storytelling.
Be part of a supportive community of chasers who share knowledge, strategies, and resources.
Receive opportunities for sponsored coverage, licensing of your footage, and revenue-sharing from monetized streams.
Become eligible for funding assistance from NCAWA through grant opportunities and dedicated resource programs to help cover expenses such as fuel, equipment upgrades, and travel for significant weather events.
In return, your work will directly contribute to public safety, helping residents make informed, potentially life-saving decisions during severe weather. By combining the strengths of individual chasers with the reach and coordination of CAWA, we create a powerful network that delivers trusted, ground-verified coverage to the people who need it most.
